Welcome to Windhorse Running

This is about you.

Training plans only work if they fit you. Pre-formatted plans set you up for failure, they are not flexible and they do not take you into account as an individual.

Training plans found on the Internet fail to take your life situation into account. They seem great at first, but the first time you miss a workout because life gets in the way, you feel like a failure…its demoralizing.

Get one-on-one communication from a certified and experienced professional, and gain the missing link in your training; you will achieve your goals. Let your coach do the detailed planning and make the tough decisions.

Windhorse Running provides the human connection that is often left out of run training plans. Not only will you receive a well-designed training program, you will also have access to a running coach. Your coach will guide you along the way, answer your questions, address your concerns, and work with you to achieve you goals. Feel confident knowing you will be successful by teaming with Windhorse Running.

We are currently at coaching capacity. Enter your name and email below to get on the waiting list and to keep up with the latest from Windhorse Running. Thanks!

Meet Coach Mike

Mike Harris continues to be one of my chief encouragers. I am proud to recommend him to anybody who wants to begin running, improve their endurance, or increase their speed. Greg Shore

Mike is a prolific student of performance and training. He understands human physiology and how it relates to athletics. When I started working with him, he ran with me to evaluate my skills, gently correcting my running style, gait and other attributes of running. Thanks to him, I shaved off 30 seconds of my 1 mile run and increased my endurance from 3 to 6 miles within twelve weeks. –Kem Fronabarger, PhD. Charleston, SC.

Training Topics: Positive Splits

Every workout you do as part of a training program should have a purpose, intensity, time/distance, and structure (PITS) associated. Even if the purpose of a workout is “to clear my head” or “to shake out my legs”, those are valid reasons and have their place. The PITS will vary according to where and how … Continue reading Training Topics: Positive Splits

Take Charge of Your Life, One Decision at a Time: One Marine’s Endurance Running Story.

As a young Marine, I was taught that pain is weakness leaving the body and to never give anything less than 100% in terms of intensity and effort. The last thing a Marine wants to do is appear weak. But when you apply these mindsets to training to become a better athlete, they quickly lead to diminishing returns and injury.

Meet Coach Greg Shore of “Charleston Runs”

There are several people who have truly inspired me over the years. Most of them I have never met, they are famous authors, actors, philosophers, or well-known elite endurance athletes who got their story out there for the world to see. A handful of inspiring people I have known personally, some of them have passed … Continue reading Meet Coach Greg Shore of “Charleston Runs”
